After a visit to Murano, where all the studios have enormous chandeliers dangling in them, Anselm decided that his planetarium dome needed one too.
With the assistance of helpful intern Jed Ogden (who did all the work), they created the battered earth - using the technique of funky fencing to achieve it. An adjacent moon is proportionally sized, although they had to cheat slightly with the distance separating the two, reality would have had the satellite about 500 meters away.
