Dalle de Verre 2
Style meets substance in this French technique of casting glass in a cement and steel matrix. Dalle de Verre is used by Kitengela Glass to create tough, vibrant interior and exterior window panels.
A steel mold is used in the hot shop to cast 20mm thick blocks or difficult shapes like stars or sharply-curved sections. Otherwise blocks of glass are carved up with a special hammer according to whatever design is needed.
